Domaine Bousquet Cabernet Sauvignon 2023
Overall sense is that someone watered down a better Cabernet. It doesn't taste bad, or anything like that, just muted. I used to be quite a fan of south american wines in my early wine drinking days (shoutout to Gato Negro), but have have since moved more towards old world. I should give something better than this a chance. I don't actually know where this came from, but I decided to drink it to clear up some space.
Nose is very muted berries. Taste was tart cherry, with moderate tannin. Cherry quickly faded into bitter chocolate, some pepper. It's rather hot at 14.5% ABV though, and that alcohol comes through due to the muted flavors.
There are better wines for 9$, but if its all you can find for a meal of steak or pasta you could do worse. Its organic for what that's worth, but I'd rather just have a better non-organic wine, or shell out another $5 to get something better that is organic.
