Rosa dell'Olmo Barbera d'Asti
Nose is Jam, cherries and strawberries, Vanilla. Chalk.
Light bodied, light but noticeable tannin. Sweet and fruity. Tastes like cherry juice. Almost all cherry notes, hint of black licorice in the finish.
Tastes slightly artificial with how sweet it is. If you're into that sort of a flavor profile you'll like it (sweet and fruity) but there isn't much else going on.
I hesitated to give this a 2.5 or a 3. I ended up on three, but it was close. I had the second half of the bottle the next day and I enjoyed it more. There was a bit more acidity and it balanced out some sweetness, so maybe consider drinking it over two days.
For 7 dollars though, its certainly fine. I wouldn't have it with a steak, but its perfect to drink over small plates.
