Ameri Malbec
Nose of intense strawberry, along with some herbal black licorice.
Full bodied, balanced acidity and really luscious tannins that manage to be a bit chewy without too much dryness. Strawberry, tart raspberry, and some interesting herbal notes that come in after a while. Intensely jammy and a sweet 'taste' without feeling sugary or cloying.
Really great wine, best malbec I've had in a while. At its heart its a fruity malbec, but it balances acidity and tannin with amazing skill. I had it out of the bottle, and the remainder was even better the next day. This one is fine to sit out for a while after pouring, at least at this young age.
Certified Organic, if like that sort of thing, and certainly none the less for it. Based on the bottle they only make this wine on certain years, and only from a certain cluster of the vinyard. Each bottle is also individually numbered.
Got this at Costco for 13.90, at what I assume is a sale, what a steal. Kind of a crime for it to go that low.
Odds are it will all be gone by the time anyone reads this, but if you see a bottle I recommend trying it, and if I see anything else from this vinyard I'll definitely try it as well.
