More italian wine! This time a Nebbiolo.

Nose is Cherry, some orange, some floral.

Medium body, interesting tannins, tangy acidity at the end. Citrus and Berry (rasberry), bit leather and coffee aftertaste. Very bright and fresh.

Nebbiolo is an interesting grape, not just because of its color (pale red and it ages into a kind of orange). A lot of it is used for very fancy wines like Barolo, which requires all sorts of special aging. None of that here, just a young fresh Nebbiolo.

Very tasty and fresh, I'd drank through my glass before I realized it. Great wine with light food and good company. Might even do well slightly chilled.

I don't think I've ever actually had Barolo, generally I'm pretty fund of cheap(ish) nebbiolo so at some point I need to try the fancy stuff. I don't have any wine cred to lose so I can make that admission. I imagine it won't have this same brightness and acidity but what do I know.

Good wine to try if you've never had the Nebbiolo grape.
