I'm pretty sure I picked this up at Costco but I cannot remember.

Nose is berries, as well as some floral herb (mint?). Taste has an acidic start, tart citrus with a medium body. Noticeable Tannin amongst the sourness, lemon aftertaste. Bit of sweetness. Interesting Structure.

Love a good Italian wine, especially when its something more interesting than Chianti. This one was great. Barbera is an interesting grape, and according to their website, it was fully fermented in steel tanks.

I think steel tanks are underrated to be honest, not all alcohol needs to age in wood, and some of my favorites use steel (like Kinmen Kaoliang). In this case I think it helped it keep some of its liveliness instead of burying it in a deluge of oak.

I let this one sit for 30 minutes before drinking, and I had more the next day. No huge difference, it still had plenty of life after 24 hours, possibly even a bit more.

A good wine, great entry to the style.
